The idea behind these was to create furniture by recycling cardboard. Inside each of the stools are about 80 layers of cardboard that have been glued together to form a solid block. Cardboard that would otherwise be thrown away can be used to create modern furnishings. Because of the environmentally concious purpose I wanted to either make a form that either resembled organic or geometric forms found in nature. In the end I stuck with the geometric form. Setting the stool on a certain side will afford sitting, while when sitting on any of the other faces creates an interesting dercorative piece.
(The block of cardboard before it was finished being cut and enclosed.)
